Over the years I have seen many of my scientist friends struggle with pressure and frustration in the workplace. I see how this creates stress and saps their energy, impacting on their family and their well-being. I know, from my own experience, how this can stop you working at your best, and even derail your career.
What a sad state of affairs! Why should a career you love be so detrimental to your health and well-being? I don’t want others to end up with health problems, because of a lack of support to manage unhealthy levels of stress. I want scientists to be at their best and to thrive in their work.
I wanted to do something about it, so I re-trained as a coach.
